Family Time
Services
At Foundations: Supporting Families, we offer a range of safe and child-focused family time services designed to help children maintain positive relationships with their loved ones.
These include supervised family time, community-based contact, supported family time, supported handovers and virtual contact sessions. Each service is delivered by trained staff in a structured and compassionate environment, ensuring that children’s safety, wellbeing and emotional needs remain at the heart of every interaction.
At Foundations: Supporting Families, our service provides a safe, supportive, and neutral environment for supervised family time. Our goal is to help children maintain healthy, positive relationships with their loved ones while ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. Whether court-ordered or arranged by parents, our trained staff facilitate each visit with compassion and professionalism, making sure every interaction is meaningful, respectful, and in the best interest of the child. We’re here to support families—every step of the way. Supervised Family Time is reported on and copies provided to both parents.
At Foundations: Supporting Families, we recognise the importance of children experiencing family time in everyday settings. Our Supervised Family Time in the Community service allows children to spend time with their loved ones in familiar public spaces—such as parks, cafés, or activity centres—while still receiving the support and oversight of our trained staff. This approach helps families create natural, shared experiences while ensuring safety, structure, and the child’s wellbeing remain at the heart of every visit.
Community Family Time is reported on and copies provided to both parents.
At Foundations: Supporting Families, we offer a welcoming and child-focused space for supported family time. This service allows children to spend time with their loved ones in a safe and neutral environment, with staff on hand to provide reassurance when needed. Unlike supervised contact, supported contact encourages families to manage their own interactions, helping to build confidence and strengthen relationships naturally. Our team is here to ensure every visit is positive, comfortable, and centered on the child’s best interests.
Please note that reports are not written for this service.
Supported handovers provide a safe and structured way for children to move between parents or caregivers when direct contact between adults is not appropriate or safe. We offer a neutral and calm environment where children can be transferred between parties with minimal stress and no direct interaction between adults.
Our trained staff are present to support the process, helping to ensure that transitions are smooth, conflict-free, and focused entirely on the needs and comfort of the child. Whether the arrangement is court-ordered or mutually agreed upon, supported handovers promote stability and consistency—allowing children to maintain relationships with both parents in a safe and supportive setting.
We understand that staying connected isn’t always easy. Our Virtual Contact service gives children the chance to spend meaningful time with their loved ones through secure online platforms. Whether due to distance, health concerns, or other circumstances, virtual contact provides a safe and flexible way for families to maintain strong relationships. Our team supports each session to ensure interactions are positive, engaging, and always focused on the child’s wellbeing.
